Fishing with the grandchildren

On the last day of their month-long stay in Gulf Shores, Kai and Jodi decided to give fishing one last try. Finally, they caught numerous small fish, many of which were fed to Henry, our resident Blue Heron. Some of the fish got away and some were let go, but it was fun for Kai to have some good results at this one activity. Fishing was the first thing Kai wanted to do when they arrived, but up until this day, there hadn't been much success. We hope this will be a good and lasting memory of his visit to Nana and Grandpa's house.

Kai holding -- at quite a distance -- his first catch of the morning. Notice he's still in his PJs!
Henry the Heron is waiting for a tasty breakfast to offered up on the bank of the canal.
Jodi got in on the action as well.
Again, Kai doesn't want to get too close to the flopping fish.
Fei watched the action in the safety of Grandpa's arms.
