Things we did on our summer vacation -- Part 1

It seems odd to say we were "on vacation" when we live in a vacation spot. But, we did take a break from the hoards of summer tourists down here and headed north in late July for little over a week's visit back to our hometowns. We spent our time in downtown Indianapolis & Union City, Indiana, and West Milton, Ohio, areas enjoying reconnecting with friends and family. Here are a few shots from our summer trip.
INDIANAPOLIS
Jim decided to sit it out while Jeff and I climbed all 331 steps inside the monument.
This monument is only 21 feet shorter than the Statue of Liberty.
Jim and Jeff standing at the base of the Sailors & Soldiers Monument,
downtown Indianapolis. The monument was completed in 1901for a cost
of $598,318. It's estimated that building a similar structure today would
cost over $500,000,000.
Lunch at Cerulean (the restaurant) downtown, Indy.
A fantastic art installation at The Alexander Hotel, downtown Indy.
A nice backdrop for a family photo.
